<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Supervise graduate trainees and clinical practicum in Communication Sciences &amp; Disorders.<br />
Participate in Master’s student research.<br />
Oversees the diagnosis and treatment of clients with communication disorders provided by CSD students.<br />
Provides diagnosis and treatment to clients with communication disorders.<br />
Serve as the faculty liaison between externship placement cites in Hawaii (e.g. DOE and Tripler) by establishing and maintaining relationships with external organizations to match students’ areas of specialty; coordinating with site supervisors to ensure successful placement; and creating/providing grading rubrics.<br />
Serves as Clinic Manager which entails managing day to day operations for the speech and hearing clinic. This includes but is not limited to matching students and clients by specialties and mentoring students during/after client sessions.<br />
Ensure HIPAA compliance for client records at UCERA facility.<br />
Work with UCERA staff to set policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws for billing and insurance reimbursement.<br />
Other scholarly duties as assigned </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Junior Specialist Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Communication Sciences &amp; Disorders or related field from a college or university of recognized standing, with major work in Communication Sciences &amp; Disorders.<br />
1 year of clinical practice in Communication Sciences &amp; Disorders.<br />
Eligible for state licensure and licensed by date of hire.<br />
Demonstrated clinical expertise.<br />
Poise and good address for meeting and conferring with others. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Assistant Specialist Minimum Qualifications Same as Jr. Specialist level, as well as:<br />
CCC-SLP.<br />
30 credits of graduate study from a college or university of recognized standing in Communication Sciences &amp; Disorders or related field.<br />
3 years of experience in Communication Sciences &amp; Disorders at the Junior Specialist level or equivalent. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Desirable Qualifications:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Experience in clinical administration and management.<br />
Experience in some or all of the following: the diagnosis and treatment of adult neurogenic disorders, voice, and swallowing disorders. </span></p>
