Yolanda Miller, President

Yolanda E. Miller holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from The Shaw University in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and a Master of Arts Degree from The Ohio State University in Speech-Language Pathology.  She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed in Speech Pathology by the State of Hawaii and North Carolina.  She has over 20 years experience in the field and has served as Speech-Language Pathology Supervisor, Consultant, Director of Rehabilitation, Therapy Program Manager, and Team Leader in long-term care, home health, and state agency settings.  After relocating to Hawaii in 2004, Yolanda became a student of hula dance and tai chi for two years.  She is a member of the Hawaii Ecumenical Chorale which sings in eleven languages featuring styles of music ranging from opera to jazz.  She was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Speech-Language-Hearing Association as Chair of Public Relations.  Currently serves as HSHA President Elect.  Yolanda was a presenter at the 2009 Asia Pacific Speech-Language-Hearing Research Convention.  She serves as Director of the Board of Christian Education and teaches the Primary 5-8 year old Sunday School Class in her local church.   Yolanda is a member of the Expressions of Praise liturgical dance group, editors the quarterly Christian Education newsletter, and provides sign language for the deaf in church services as needed.  Yolanda enjoys her profession and is fulfilled dedicating her time and talents to the residents she serves.
